A master’s thesis at the College of Education for Pure Sciences at the University of Karbala discussed the application and theoretical study of new barbiturate derivatives as corrosion inhibitors.

The study aims to synthesize and characterize new barbiturate derivatives that contain heterogeneous atoms in their structure, such as atoms (sulfur, nitrogen, and oxygen), which are important in the field of corrosion.

The study recommended the need to expand the scope of work in the future to include studying the corrosion of an alloy of carbon steel in an acidic medium, H2SO4, with a 1M solution, in order to conclude and obtain extensive information about the nature of corrosion of this alloy.
