With feelings full of joy and happiness, the Deanship of the College of Dentistry at the University of Karbala, headed by the Dean of the College and all members of the teaching staff, extends its warmest and most beautiful congratulations and congratulations to the researcher, Dr. Hassanein Jawad Abdul Hussein, teaching in the Basic Medical Sciences Branch, for obtaining a doctorate from the College of Science at the University of Babylon for his thesis. Tagged: (Antibacterial Activity of Biosynthesis of Silver, Gold, and Iron Nanoparticles Against Streptococcus mutans that Isolated from Dental Caries) We pray to God Almighty to bless him with this scientific excellence and we wish him further progress and success.
This study, which was presented by the researcher, came with the aim of obtaining an alternative to the antibiotics used as treatments for bacteria, since bacteria have become highly resistant to some types of antibiotics, as many of them were tested on the Streptococcus mutans bacteria that cause tooth decay, and it was found that they are highly resistant to most of these antibiotics for various reasons, including Genetic, metabolic and structural, including those related to virulence factors.
This study concluded that the use of a group of nanomaterials, such as nanoparticles of gold, silver, or iron, which are synthesized through various biological methods, is a suitable alternative to antibiotics, as they have proven effective in killing bacteria to a large extent after applying special tests.
