A master’s thesis at the College of Science at the University of Karbala discussed the effect of a nano-prepared compound in inhibiting some types of pathogenic fungi isolated from various clinical sources.
The study presented by researcher Rand Sajid aimed to isolate and diagnose some types of yeast (Candida Spp) from various clinical samples, investigate some virulence factors of the yeasts under study using molecular methods, and prepare a nano-disinfectant from commonly used disinfectants and characterize it.
The study concluded that the isolated C.albicans yeast is present in the oral cavity at a high rate.
The letter recommended studying the inhibitory effectiveness of the hybrid nanoantibiotics under study against other types of fungi and using other antifungals in the preparation of hybrid nanoantibiotics.
