A master’s thesis at the College of Education for Humanities at the University of Karbala discussed open-minded thinking and its relationship to historical bias among history department teachers from the students’ point of view.
The importance of the study comes from the fact that the teacher is considered a tool for university education, and if he possesses open thinking, he does not involve himself in the internal conflicts imposed by historical events, but rather he is sensitive to responding to historical evidence and evidence.
The study presented by student Rehab Abdel Amir aimed to identify the level of open thinking among teachers of the History Department at the University of Karbala from the students’ point of view.
The study found that there is a large percentage of teachers who have open thinking, and the teachers of this generation are accustomed to keeping up with communication with all Arab and foreign cultures.
The study recommended the need for curriculum building committees to work on developing a comprehensive project concerned with open thinking within a strategy for developing the intellectual capabilities of university students.
