The College of Science at the University of Karbala organized a seminar on nanocomposites and their applications with the participation of graduate students, teachers and college staff.
The seminar aimed to introduce nanocomposites and their role in increasing the efficiency of compounds after improving their surface characteristics and physical and chemical properties.
The seminar included introducing participants to nanocomposites that consist of a pair of two or more compounds and have nanoscopic dimensions, and how to classify them based on dimensions (zero-dimensional, one-dimensional, two-dimensional, and three-dimensional composites) and classify them based on composition (composite with metals, ceramic composite, polymeric composite, and carbon composite). ).
The episode also touched on how to prepare nanocomposites in simple ways, characterize them using various techniques, and their most important applications (using them with high efficiency in adsorption of pollutants on the one hand, and in the decolorization of colored compounds, or in increasing the efficiency of solar cells).
