The College of Education for Human Sciences at the University of Karbala discussed the doctoral thesis entitled (Geopolitical and Economic Dimensions of the Phenomenon of Maritime Piracy in the Arabian Sea) by student Russel Abboud Mohi.
The study aimed to know the dimensions and causes of maritime piracy and its consequences at the international, regional and local levels.
The study touched on piracy as a phenomenon that occurred in the world’s seas and led to a breach of security in those areas.
The study showed that the phenomenon of piracy has geographical causes and effects that cannot be ignored, as it is a global crime that harms the interests of peoples.
The study concluded that the phenomenon of maritime piracy is an ancient criminal phenomenon that has its roots in the depths of history.
