The College of Pharmacy at the University of Karbala organized a scientific course on the indicators that must be adopted to determine the stages of kidney failure, with the participation of a group of college employees and students.

The course, which was lectured by the teacher, Dr. Arjwan Abdul-Jabbar Reda, aimed to raise awareness among the college’s members and students about adhering to health conditions to avoid developing high blood pressure, diabetes, and obesity, and committing to periodic follow-up by performing a kidney function test (KFT).

The course topics included providing a physiological explanation of the renal unit responsible for filtering the blood from nitrogenous wastes, the factors that lead a person to the stages of kidney failure, and addressing chronic diseases that lead to kidney failure such as blood pressure, diabetes, and heart disease, as well as the genetic factor.
