The College of Pharmacy at the University of Karbala organized a workshop on the phenomenon of drug abuse among young people, targeting fourth-year students.
The workshop, which was lectured by Professor Dr. Wafa Fawzi Ibrahim, aimed to raise the level of awareness among students about the dangers and harms of drugs.
The workshop addressed the factors that lead to the spread of drug abuse or addiction, especially among adolescents and young people. It also addressed the psychological, health and social changes that appear in people who use drugs, and highlighted the importance of early treatment and its effective role in reducing the negative effects of drugs.
The symposium recommended the need for educational institutions to continue their cooperation with health authorities and others to enhance efforts to combat the phenomenon of drug abuse.
