The Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Service at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research approved the book “Comparative Literature – Approach and Procedure” by Professor Dr. Hazem Fadel Al-Baraz, a teaching professor in the Arabic Language Department at the College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Karbala, as a basic curriculum for Iraqi Islamic sciences colleges.

The book, which was issued by the Academic Book Center in Amman, aims to focus on the important role of civilizational dialogue between different peoples, which reduces the chances of civilizational conflict and its repercussions, and contributes to influencing the elements of human personality and society.

The book, which is 633 pages long, consists of two chapters. The first is titled (The Mutual Influences Between Nations, Religious Text and Poetry as a Model), while the second chapter is titled (The Mutual Influences Between Nations and Other Literary Genres as a Model).

Its accreditation by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research comes as it is considered the only study in Iraq in particular and the Arab world in general that dealt with the theoretical level in some detail and the applied level that included most of the literary genres, including the Qur’an, ancient and modern poetry, stories, novels, plays, and autobiography.
