A master’s thesis at the College of Agriculture at the University of Karbala discussed the response of two varieties of pomegranate seedlings, (Wonderful – Salimi), to spraying with seaweed extract and the addition of Humax on some chemical and morphological growth characteristics, submitted by the student Nisreen Kazem Ali.

The study aimed to compare which of the two varieties is better in terms of growth characteristics and response to the treatments used.

The study concluded that the Wonderful variety was superior to the Salimi variety in most traits, which is a good indicator of its suitability to the conditions of the central region of Iraq, including Karbala Governorate.

The study recommended the need to multiply seedlings of the Wonderful variety for the purpose of increasing tree planting.
