A number of teachers at the College of Agriculture at the University of Karbala participated with an international research team in conducting a survey of the most important beneficial insects spread in different regions of Iraq.

Professor of insect taxonomy, Dr. Andy Polachek, from the British Natural History Museum, and a research team from the College of Agriculture, visited a number of governorates to conduct field surveys.

The research team seeks to record the most important types of beneficial insects widespread in Iraq after confirming their diagnosis at the British Natural History Museum and establishing a database of widespread beneficial and parasitic insects and the possibility of using them in combating insect pests.
