The College of Education for Human Sciences at the University of Karbala organized a scientific workshop on the possibility of applying water harvesting technologies in the western plateau of Iraq, with the participation of a number of graduate students.
The workshop aimed to clarify the appropriate methods for harvesting water in the western plateau of Iraq.
The workshop included two topics that focused on defining the concept of water harvesting and the factors affecting water harvesting in the western plateau of the country, as well as addressing the systems that can be followed in water harvesting.
The organizers called for the need to take advantage of the potential provided by water bodies in carrying out various activities, as well as establishing climatic and hydrological stations to know the amount of annual discharge in the region and then plan to invest this water.
