The Women’s Empowerment Unit at the College of Dentistry at the University of Karbala organized a cultural symposium entitled (Intellectual influences in family education and ways to confront them – a good role model as a model), in which Assistant Professor Dr. Abeer Abdul Rasoul Muhammad lectured in the continuing education hall of the college, in the presence of a group of college employees and teachers.
The symposium aimed to shed light on the social influences on family relations in our current era – the era of technological development and its negative effects in light of the current economic and cultural conditions, and how to deal with these conditions and find appropriate solutions for them.
The symposium, which was held under the slogan (Protecting the Family and Strengthening its Bonds), included an explanation of the importance of the family in society and the role of the husband and wife in strengthening the bonds between each other according to their duties, as well as an explanation of the most important social influences on family relations, such as excessive use of social networking sites and the resulting accumulation of problems and weakness. Family cohesion and the negative impact on children in particular.
The symposium recommended the necessity of adhering to what was stated in the Holy Qur’an and the purified Sunnah of the Prophet with everything related to reviving the common sense of man to protect the family and strengthen the bonds between its members, and to stay away from deviant Western concepts such as gender and others, which constitute a real threat to the societal fabric and thus threaten to disintegrate the family.
