A doctoral thesis at the College of Law at the University of Karbala discussed the rationality of criminal policy, submitted by researcher Awatif Alaa Al-Din Abdel-Sada.
The study aimed to shed light on the rationality of criminal policy as it is the most important principle of contemporary criminal policy.
The study found that rationality is characterized by being renewable and variable and varies according to time and place. What we find rational in one time may be irrational in another time.
The study recommended the need for the Iraqi legislator to issue a law that includes a general system for crimes and administrative penalties under the title of the Administrative Penal Code.
