A master’s thesis at the College of Engineering at the University of Karbala discussed the effect of the shape and distribution of fins on the thermal performance of a phase change material.

The study presented by student Alaa Hamza Salman aimed to improve the performance of phase change materials recently used in the manufacture of solar heaters for optimal investment in clean energy.

The study concluded that the genetic shape of the fin used is the optimal shape, which improved the thermal performance of the material used, and that the optimal arrangement is to place it at the bottom of the section.
