The College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Karbala organized an electronic symposium on how to reduce the phenomenon of violence against women and its place in the Holy Qur’an.
The first axis of the symposium aimed to shed light on the concept of violence and the effects on the family as a result of it, while the second axis dealt with honoring women and guaranteeing their rights in Islamic law, and mentioned the Qur’anic texts urging this.
The symposium recommended the importance of legislating a law to protect women and children from violence and putting women into work to raise their status in society.
