The College of Computer Science and Information Technology at the University of Karbala organized a training workshop on assessing the environmental impact of waste dumps in the city of Karbala.
The workshop aims to introduce the locations of waste dumps in the city of Karbala and determine whether they are within the planning limits and Iraqi and international environmental standards.
The workshop included a number of topics, the most important of which was defining the importance of waste dumps from an environmental standpoint and introducing the Iraqi Ministry of Environment’s determinants for establishing sanitary landfills, as well as defining the locations of the landfills and whether they are within the standards of the Iraqi Ministry of Environment.
