The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, stressed the work to provide high-quality education enhanced by technology through partnership and cooperation with major international institutions.
This came in his speech during the smart education event held in cooperation with Huawei, where he expressed the importance of the qualitative event that embodies a partnership and interest between the relevant departments in the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Huawei, which has provided important work in the field of information and communications technology in order to achieve this goal. The space is the cooperation required to diagnose and implement what Iraqi students and youth need within the framework of the future of smart education and digital transformation.
He continued that the concrete achievements that higher education institutions have formulated at the level of scientific research and development of educational systems require direct strengthening of training programs in order to achieve modernization and development responsible for keeping pace with the rapid changes in the digital world, indicating that it has become necessary to work on establishing the path to embarking on the digitization of educational climates. Which includes smart classrooms in universities and colleges and updating their paths.
He added that the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research is setting on this occasion a context of understanding that paves the way for enhancing smart education methods in academic institutions, and is launching serious steps in the field of developing a comprehensive and integrated system for nurturing talent in the information and communications technology sector.
The smart education event included the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research concluding a memorandum of cooperation with the Huawei Academy for Information and Communications Technology and the Talent Ecosystem Programs, in addition to speeches by the Chinese Embassy, UNESCO, the General Director of the Department of Studies, Planning and Follow-up in the Ministry, and the Director of Smart Education at Huawei, in addition to a speech by the CEO of Huawei. In which he announced the Huawei ICT Competition 2024/25.
