Prof. Ali Hussein Makki chaired the PhD thesis discussion committee at the College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Baghdad.
Makki said that the thesis was entitled (A parasitic and molecular study of the Eimeria parasite in quail birds) in Dhi Qar Governorate by the student Muntazer Mohammed Falih, which consisted of five chapters.
He indicated that the aim of the study was to identify new types of parasites that cause infection through genes represented by 18S rRNA
The research included diagnosing seven new genes in Iraq that cause diseases as well as the effect of infection in the intestine represented by necrosis and infiltration of cells.
The study recommended the acceptance of the research because it was the first study in Iraq to diagnose the new species.
