The College of Education for Pure Sciences at the University of Karbala discussed a master’s thesis on the effect of some plant extracts on the performance of some aspects of life of the land snail Monacha spp in the holy city of Karbala.
The aim of the thesis was to study the fertility of the land snail, Monacha obstructa, which is found in the farms of the Kamalia region in Karbala, by conducting a histological study of some of the snail’s body organs, including gonads, lungs, and feet.
The study recommended the necessity of conducting survey studies to find out the extent of the Monacha obstructa snail in Karbala farms, as well as conducting biological and environmental studies on the snail to understand the details of its life cycle, and activating vital management on it as an agricultural pest to limit its damage.
