In the event that this disease is not treated, it will develop into an inflammation of the supporting tissues, ulcerative and dying, that is, it will extend to reach the alveolar bone below the gingival tissue, and thus lead to its destruction and the occurrence of bone resorption, and it may lead to serious complications in immunosuppressed patients in particular.
In general, it is rare for the lesion to develop to this stage without treatment because it is very painful.
