American researchers have created a dental filling that can kill bacteria inside the tooth and rebuild its layers.
And the American “Life Science” website stated that researchers at the University of “Maryland” have developed a lotion that is used during the preparation of the cavity in the molar for filling, and a new filling, which contain nano-sized particles of silver and calcium.
The lotion kills bacteria in the affected area before filling it with a new filling, while the filling itself strengthens the tooth and helps it regrow its layers.
The new products have undergone laboratory testing, but the researchers plan that the next test will be on animals, and then on humans.
