It is known that obesity and the consumption of alcoholic beverages increase the possibility of developing liver cancer, and on the contrary, the results of new studies have shown that coffee can protect a person from developing liver cancer.
Scientists studied the results of 34 previous studies conducted in different countries, involving more than 8 million people, including 24,000 people with liver cancer.
Scientists were unable to determine the mechanism of coffee’s effect in reducing the risk of liver cancer, but it was proven to them that drinking coffee reduced the risk of liver cancer by 29 percent.
According to them, coffee and coffee extract have also been shown to reduce gene expression associated with inflammation, and this is very evident in liver tissue.
These results add liver cancer to the list of diseases that can be reduced by drinking coffee, such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and others.
