The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, announced the launch of the report on responding to the goals of sustainable development and revealed the universities’ tendency to adopt the European course system.
This came during the launching ceremony of the first national report on the response of universities to the goals of sustainable development, where he stressed that the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and its universities and governmental and private colleges are committed to the development plan and its time horizon that extends to the year 2030 and work to achieve the largest percentage of response to its indicators and meet national and international entitlements taking into account Changes, adapting to emergency conditions, and overcoming challenges in order to ensure sustainable education and fulfill responsibilities towards society by localizing development goals in the educational strategy and launching them towards global partnerships.
In his speech, the Minister of Education revealed the expected orientation of universities and their willingness to adopt the European course system, explaining at the same time that UNESCO’s praise for adopting the Bologna track in Iraqi universities and focusing on the centrality of the student and enabling him with practical tools and developing qualifications clearly embodies the rise of the education quality index in university educational institutions.
