The coordination and arrangement of the midline of the face is of particular importance, and the extraction of molar teeth greatly affects beauty. However, different studies have shown that the extraction of teeth #2 through #4 coincides with the impact on the midline of the face. The acceptable amount of deviation between the midline of the face and the molar teeth has been investigated in further studies.
To see an acceptable deviation in the midline of the face, photographs of the faces of 200 students between the ages of 18 and 30, both sexes without any missing teeth, were selected and scanned on a computer screen. Using specialized software, the required distances were measured and recorded. The distance between the midline of the face and the central injury levels was read on the computer.
In 44.4% of boys and 55% of girls, this deviation appeared in the range of 0-1 mm. While 54% of boys and 33% of females showed midline deviation in the dental and facial lines within 1-2 mm. 37% of boys and 8% of females showed midline facial deviation with a range of 2-3 mm. In 80% of the study population, the maxillary and mandibular teeth were never equal and the majority of the study population showed a deviation between the midline of the face and the anterior teeth in the range of 0-1 mm.
