A non-specialized dentist lacks the ability, knowledge and qualifications necessary to treat orthodontic patients. Of course, this does not negate the necessary qualifications to carry out other simple treatments. However, complex cases of orthodontics, which are – in most cases – among the fixed treatments, should be treated by a specialized doctor or orthodontist.
