The College of Education for Pure Sciences at the University of Karbala discussed a Ph.D. thesis on the histological and functional effects of Asparagus officinalis root extract on female white rats with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).

The thesis aimed to know the therapeutic and preventive effects of asparagus root extract in improving the symptoms of PCOS and its effect on ovarian fertility.

The thesis showed the importance of asparagus root extract in reducing the side effects of the creation of PCOS, as it was found that the treatment with asparagus roots after the creation of PCOS was the most efficient and best in reducing the harmful effects resulting from the creation of PCOS.

The thesis recommended the need to study the effect of asparagus root extract on the thyroid and adrenal glands after the development of polycystic ovary syndrome, as well as conducting a hormonal study to find out the effect of asparagus extract on insulin hormone and glucose levels in the blood.
