The formation and activity of bacterial plaque on the teeth is not easy to detect with the naked eye. It is usually the dentist who diagnoses cavities in children through periodic check-ups.

If it is the parents who discover it, it is usually too late because it means the cavities are in a very advanced state.

The first sign is the appearance of discoloration in the teeth, which become white and without shine. In a more advanced stage, yellow, brown or black borders are observed at the level of the fair region and in the most obvious stage, loss of substance and rupture of the tooth enamel is seen.

When childhood cavities occur in a dark color in the tooth, the appearance of bad breath and even pain in the dental part, it may be a sign that it has reached the nerve or is about to reach the pulp of the tooth.
