Depending on whether it affects the final or temporary teething, and depending on the age of the baby, baby caries will be treated differently.
Depending on the type of treatment, we may encounter the following conditions:
If the lesion has reached the nerve and we are facing a temporary tooth, a veneer is performed.
If the cavities do not affect the nerve tissue of the tooth, they are sealed with a paste (filling).
If the cavities cause a large perforation, metal crowns are applied to conserve space while facilitating correct chewing.
In more advanced cases where infection has destroyed the root of the tooth this may require extraction.
On the other hand, space maintenance must be installed to avoid losing the space needed for the correct location of the final tooth.
