Orthodontist

Orthodontics is the first specialty of dentistry, and deals with the treatment of jaw and facial problems. Like other medical specialties, orthodontic treatment requires the necessary specialization and sufficient knowledge. This is because the orthodontist, or the doctor treating orthodontics, has the necessary academic qualifications to be able to treat the deformities that the jaws and face suffer from. This means that a non-specialized dentist, in order to obtain the necessary qualifications for orthodontics, should study academically for a period ranging between 4-6 years after completing the study of dentistry, in order to achieve the necessary specialization in orthodontic surgery. It is mentioned that a non-specialized dentist must participate in a general scientific test that is very difficult and highly competitive, in which several thousand non-specialist dentists participate, and then obtain the desired result in order for him to join the study of specialization in orthodontic surgery.
