A dissertation in the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Karbala discussed the estimation of the survival function of the converted Rayleigh-Pareto distribution using the converted exponential formula with a practical application.
The study presented by the researcher, student Ghufran Ghazi Karim, aimed at estimating the survival function of a new probability distribution, which is the Transmuted Rayleigh Pareto Distribution (TRP) and – choosing the best probability survival function for the complex quadratic distribution (Rayleigh – Pareto) (TRP) using estimation methods (the greatest possibility, partial estimators, Cramer von Mises) based on the statistical scale of average squares error and the use of simulation method with different sample sizes small, medium and large.
The thesis included using the theory of quadratic transformed distributions in building a proposed new probability distribution known as Transmuted Rayleigh Pareto Distribution with three parameters (α, γ, θ).
The study concluded that the greatest possibility is the best in estimating the parameters and survival function of any transformed distribution at large samples, while it recommended expanding the use of the theory of transformed distributions to obtain new distributions that are highly flexible in representing and describing data and applying the converted Rayleigh-Pareto distribution in studies related to estimating the survival function and other studies because it is more accurate and flexible in describing data.
