The disadvantage of this method is that orthodontists have to go through specialized courses and not everyone can do it. Also in the Lingual orthodontic method, the brackets are placed behind the tooth and adjacent to the tongue and thus may cause discomfort at the time of speaking and eating. It takes several weeks to get used to this. Another problem with this method is that it is very difficult to clean.
It also requires more precision than traditional methods, so straightening teeth takes longer to do and the patient has to put up with it. The distances between the lingual braces are closer than they are in the usual way, which makes future sessions more and the placement of the braces more difficult. It should be noted that the Lingual Orthodontic method is more expensive than the usual methods and can only treat some special problems.
