The Political Prisoners Foundation honored a number of Karbala University professors who contributed to writing the curriculum for the crimes of the banned Baath Party, which will be taught in Iraqi universities, in the presence of the Foundation’s President, Dr. Hussein Al-Sultani, and a number of academic, literary and political figures. And the Foundation stated in a statement, “The honoring included three professors from the University of Karbala, namely Dr. Makki Al-Rubaie, Dr. Haider Al-Yaqoubi, and Dr. Haider Al-Ghazi, who actively contributed to writing this curriculum.” A member of the Curriculum Authoring Committee, Prof. Dr. Makki Al-Rubaie, said in a speech he delivered at the honoring ceremony, “The mechanism that was adopted to write the curriculum to be taught was through the formation of a committee by ministerial order composed of a number of Iraqi university professors, according to which the writing of the course chapters was distributed to members The committee requires impartiality and objectivity in writing the texts of the book. And Dr. Makki Al-Rubaie stated, “The curriculum included a brief overview of the political regimes that ruled Iraq from the beginning of the establishment of the Iraqi state until today, the Baathists’ violations of human rights and public freedoms, and the impact of the Baathist regime’s behavior on society in various social, cultural, political, media, and other fields.” At the end of the ceremony, the president of the institution, his deputy, and the general managers honored the members of the committee with the institution’s shield, expressing his thanks and appreciation to them for their efforts in codifying the violations of the dissolved regime within the decision to be adopted in the teaching curricula.
