A master’s thesis at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Karbala discussed the variation in heel heights of weightlifters’ shoes and its relationship to spinal curvatures and some biomechanical variables in the snatch lift for emerging lifters.
The thesis submitted by researcher Abdul Wahed Hassan Al-Hali came with the aim of studying spinal curvatures and their relationship to some biomechanical variables according to the variation in the heel heights of weightlifters’ shoes in the snatch lift for budding lifters, and identifying the relationship between spinal curvatures and biomechanical variables in the snatch lift for budding lifters. Differences in spinal curvatures and biomechanical variables in weightlifters’ heel heights in the snatch lift for emerging lifters, as well as identifying the best heel height used.
The study recommended the need to use shoes with a height of (4.5 cm) in tournaments and training, and the need to pay attention to such studies to know the extent of the development of these variables in the program established to know the effect of heights on lifters during training. It also recommended the necessity of emphasizing the bio-kinematic variables by the coach, analyzing the snatch lift, and knowing the changes occurring in the snatch lift.
