The University of Karbala team participated in the Iraqi Universities Table Tennis Championship for students and professors, which was hosted by the Islamic University in the Najaf Governorate under the patronage of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, and under the supervision of the Student Activities Department in the Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Service in the Ministry. More than one person participated in this tournament. Fifty public and private universities and colleges, and the tournament will continue for 6 days from the date of its launch last Saturday 11-04-2023.
The head of the delegation of the University of Karbala to the students, Assistant Lecturer Barakat Muhammad Ali, said in a statement to the Department of Media and Government Communication at the College of Dentistry / University of Karbala, “Within the framework of the championship competitions, the Karbala University team defeated Assyria University with a score of 3 matches to zero, and in the second match, the players of the Karbala University team defeated The National University of Science and Technology team won with a score of 3 matches to zero, adding that the Karbala University Student Team qualified for the semi-finals after exciting matches and strong competition.”
For his part, the coach of the Karbala University team, assistant teacher Zia Muhammad Mahdi, added, “Competitive matches will begin tomorrow between the professors’ teams, where the Karbala University professors’ team will compete with other teams to win the championship title, noting that the Karbala University professors’ team includes a group of professors from the following colleges: College Physical Education, College of Sports Sciences, College of Dentistry, College of Pure Sciences, and College of Administration and Economics.”
