As part of the activities of the Global Entrepreneurship Week, the College of Dentistry at the University of Karbala organized an educational guidance seminar for first-year students in Al-Zahraa Hall, in which the teacher Fadel Nima Shalabh, head of the Student Affairs and Registration Division, and the assistant teacher Haider Nihad Abdel Hamid, head of the Legal Division at the college, lectured in the presence of students. The symposium included two topics. The first topic was presented by Professor Fadel Nima Shalabh, in which he addressed the behaviors that the student must adhere to within the university, such as adhering to the uniform, adhering to official working hours, and staying away from all behaviors and actions that would harm the student first and the campus second, stressing to the students that they are now in A very important stage in their lives on the personal and professional level. They are now in the stage of building and preparing their personalities along with building their professional future as dentists. As for the second axis, it was presented by Professor Haider Nihad Abdel Hamid, in which he addressed the legal rights and duties of university students. The Student Discipline Law of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research for the year 2000 was explained in detail, mentioning the disciplinary penalties included in the law and the legal mechanism for appealing the penalties if they are approved by the Council. The college or the university council aims to increase the students’ culture from a legal standpoint and how to apply legal controls in dealing with the teaching staff as well as the students’ dealings with each other. In turn, he offered congratulations and blessings to the students, wishing them all the best and success in their new academic life.
It is worth noting that the first stage students accepted for the current academic year 2023-2024 began their first day at the College of Dentistry – University of Karbala on Sunday, 11/12/2023. The Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Muhannad Salah Abdel Sattar, met with the students and welcomed them and urged them to Perseverance, excellence, commitment to permanence and integration into the university community and to be an example to be followed by the rest of the students in the colleges of the University of Karbala.
