As part of the activities of the Global Entrepreneurship Week at the College of Dentistry / University of Karbala, two patents were presented in the medical biology laboratory at the college, where the two researchers (Lecturer Dr. Hassanein Jawad Abdel Hussein) from the College of Dentistry and (Lecturer Dr. Muthanna Jawad Abdel Hussein) from The College of Pharmacy obtained two patents from the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control – Department of Industrial Property in the field of manufacturing dental materials. The first patent was entitled (Using pointed-toothed snail shell powder in cleaning, removing tooth stains and polishing them) and the second was entitled (Manufacturing the insulating material used In the dental industry from flax seeds.

The first patent included the use of snail shell powder with a pointed fang in cleaning and removing tooth stains and polishing them. The manufactured material is classified as an industrial cosmetic product and is manufactured in two types, the first in the form of a powder and the second in the form of a paste. It can also be applied and used in dental laboratories as well as in clinics. The second patent included the manufacture of an insulating material from flax seeds used in the dental industry. The manufactured material is classified as an industrial product.
