Students of the College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Karbala organized a campaign to support orphans in cooperation with Al-Ain Foundation for Social Welfare, in the presence of the University President, Prof. Dr. Bassem Khalil Al-Saeedi, the Assistant President for Administrative Affairs, Prof. Dr. Akram Mohsen Al-Yasiri, representatives of the Al-Ain Foundation for Social Welfare, and a number of professors and students.
In his speech, the university president praised the efforts and initiative of the students and the Department of Quranic Studies aimed at supporting an important segment of society, and making them feel the great care and attention.
Al-Saeedi explained, “The campaign comes within the humanitarian efforts of students and professors that are supported and welcomed by the university, in addition to events and activities that enhance social bonds and show the students’ human sense.
For his part, the Dean of the College of Islamic Sciences, Prof. Dr. Dergham Karim Kazem Al-Mousawi, said: “The campaign included preparing 150 food baskets for distribution to orphans, as well as distributing clothes for more than 50 orphans,” referring to the delivery of sums of money that were donated to the Al Ain Foundation for Social Welfare, and the college continues. And supportive of such humanitarian initiatives, and this is part of our goal.


The idea of this initiative was specifically launched by the students of the first stage in the Department of Quranic Studies, in coordination and organization with the teaching assistant, Dr. Ahmed Rahi Al-Zaidi.
Everyone praised this work, which contributes to building society on Islamic foundations and values, appreciating the efforts of the participants, students and professors.
