The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Head of the Iraqi Atomic Energy Commission, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, visited the Jordan University of Science and Technology and discussed areas of joint cooperation.
At the beginning of the meeting, which took place in the presence of the President of the University, Dr. Khaled Al-Salem, the President of the Jordanian Atomic Energy Commission, Dr. Khaled Touqan, and members of the Iraqi delegation, the Minister of Education confirmed the progress of the Iraqi Ministry of Education and its university institutions in developing the environment of scientific partnerships in specialized fields, especially engineering, technical and medical ones, and achieving the highest level of cooperation. Academic, exchange of experiences and program development.
He explained that the circle of scientific discoveries has expanded and responded to all the requirements imposed by the era of innovation and knowledge investment, and that global scientific work is witnessing rapid progress, and that development indicators are no longer limited to a specific geography, pointing out that Iraqi and Arab university institutions are urging steps towards modernizing the mechanisms, methods and means responsible for providing an educational environment. An actor that responds to the requirements of sustainable development and sponsors all targeted projects.
In turn, the President of the Jordanian University of Science and Technology, Dr. Khaled Al-Salem, welcomed the visit of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi and his accompanying delegation, stressing the strengthening of bilateral relations between the two countries in the scientific and technological fields, while he gave an explanation of the university’s march, projects and programs that seek to keep pace with scientific changes.
The delegation was briefed on the sub-critical nuclear system in the university campus and listened to an extensive briefing on the work and operation of the nuclear system, which aims to provide the necessary environment for training students of the Nuclear Engineering Department to conduct experiments and study the physics of nuclear reactors in a safe educational environment.
