An orthodontic pacifier is a device similar to a mother’s nipple that is flat at the bottom and round at the top. These pacifiers are designed to fit the baby’s developing jaw and palate and keep their shape in optimal condition. The head of the orthodontic pacifier is flattened by the baby during sucking and is just like the mother’s breast. This type of pacifier reduces and controls pressure on developing gums and teeth and prevents problems such as open bite or overbite.
