Eight Iraqi universities have achieved important competitive positions in the Times Asian Universities Ranking 2023.

The official results (https://www.timeshighereducation.com/world-university-rankings/2023/regional-ranking#!/length/25/locations/IRQ/sort_by/rank/sort_order/asc/cols/stats) included a rating of 600. Sixty-nine universities from thirty-one countries, including Iraq, where the University of Babylon came in the 199th place, then the University of Technology in the 251-300th place, followed by the University of Anbar in the 301-350th place, the universities of Baghdad, Mosul and Al-Mustansiriya in the 501-600th place, and Basra and Kufa 601 + Asia.

It is worth noting that the Times classification of Asian universities evaluates universities according to 5 basic criteria: education 25%, scientific research 30%, citations 30%, international outlook 7.5%, knowledge transfer 7.5%.

It is worth noting that Iraqi universities and colleges record their increasing competition in international rankings, including the Shanghai Global Ranking of Academic Subjects, in which the University of Baghdad appeared within the chemical engineering major, the (The Times) classification, in which eight universities are located, and the (QS) classification, in which there are five universities. Universities and the (Greenmetric) classification, in which seventy-three Iraqi universities and colleges entered, and the URA classification, in which four Iraqi universities are located, in addition to the (Webometrics) classification, which recorded the attendance and competition of more than one hundred Iraqi universities and colleges.
