A master’s thesis at the College of Engineering at the University of Karbala discussed the performance of electric vehicles using a high-performance multilevel inverter.

The study, titled “Designing High-Performance Multilevel Inverters for an Electric Vehicle Powered by a Battery-Hybrid Photovoltaic System,” aims to improve the performance of brushless direct current (BLDC) motors in electric cars using a multi-source system that includes the battery and solar panels.
The thesis submitted by researcher Nafi Mahdi Issa concluded that advanced control methods using SMC with a multi-level inverter significantly improved torque ripple, reduced harmonics, saved energy, and increased efficiency.
