The College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Karbala organized a scientific symposium on rights and freedoms in the Iraqi constitution in 2005, women as a model.

The symposium addressed women’s issues, gender equality, and equal opportunities as a right guaranteed to all Iraqis.

The symposium touched on women’s right to political participation and the mechanisms and foundations of representing interests, reviewing the basic rules and comprehensive structures of the women’s quota system.
