A doctoral thesis at the College of Education for Humanities at the University of Karbala dealt with narrative aspects among the poets of Hilla until the end of the ninth century AH, submitted by researcher Hadeer Diya Hussein.

The thesis included four chapters. The first chapter was titled (The Event), the second chapter was titled: (Personality) and was organized into two sections. The third chapter was titled (Narrative Space), and the fourth chapter was titled (Dialogue).

The study concluded that the event for the poets of Hilla consists of conveying all conflicts in the face of reality in all its forms and expressing them in an expressive and informative manner, in a narrative form, and with a creative vision.
