A master’s thesis in the College of Education for the Humanities discussed the verbal accompaniment in the words of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), submitted by the student Zainab Muhammad Jawad.

The study addressed the phenomenon of “verbal accompaniment” in the speech of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), through an applied analytical study that used the descriptive approach.

The study provides a comprehensive analysis of the phenomenon of “verbal accompaniment” in the speech of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), with the aim of revealing its characteristics and its impact on meaning and eloquence of expression.

The first chapter of the study dealt with verbal accompaniment in the modern linguistic lesson, the second dealt with the lexical, semantic, and syntactic effect of verbal accompaniment, and the third chapter examined the lexical verbal accompaniment at the level of semantic correspondence, the level of hierarchical gradation, and the relationship of the part to the whole and the part to the part, while the fourth chapter dealt with verbal accompaniment at the syntactic level. .

The study showed that collocation affects the linguistic meaning of words, making them more specific and clear.
