A study at the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Karbala discussed the effectiveness of the tax system in achieving financial sustainability – experiences of selected countries, with special reference to Iraq.
The study presented by student Akram Hamid Al-Janabi aimed to analyze the structure of public taxes and the tax system in Iraq and the sample countries and to analyze the variables of financial sustainability in Iraq and the sample countries.
The letter concluded that the tax administration faces a problem in the absence of accounting data in the private sector, which makes it more difficult to estimate project profits.
The study recommended using studies and research that dealt with the Iraqi tax system and achieving financial sustainability as much as possible.
