The Center for Strategic Studies at the University of Karbala organized a scientific symposium on drugs and their effects on society, in cooperation with the Department of Health and the Directorate for Combating Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances, in the presence of a number of university students, employees and professors.
The symposium aimed to introduce the phenomenon, its causes, and its repercussions on all segments of society, now and in the future.
The symposium reviewed the types of addiction and the reasons that lead to its occurrence, as well as the behaviors that the addicted person engages in.
The symposium recommended the necessity of establishing specialized health centers whose function is to provide treatment services to addicted people, as well as allowing them to go to sanitariums to undergo treatment sessions that will enable them to leave this phenomenon that has destroyed societies.
