A way to identify the causes of riots among the people

Chinese scientists have come up with a new method that helps security forces identify suicide terrorists lurking among crowds of people.

The new method is based on the simple idea that a state of turmoil and stress causes a change in heartbeat, facial features, and body temperature, but these indicators are not always reliable, because there are people who can control their heartbeat, for example.

Dr. Chen Tun of China Southwest University used another indicator in his research, which is blood oxygenation.

Using high-resolution spectral images analyzed by the electromagnetic spectrum, Chen and his scientific team were able to devise a “tension sensor” that can determine the level of oxygen in the blood through exposed parts of the body, such as the face.

“The higher the stress, the higher the oxygen level in the blood,” says Chen.

Chen tested this innovation during riots that took place in China, and adds: Everyone was behaving normally, but with the start of the riots, their level of psychological stress rose.

And our innovation allows identifying such people, so that law enforcement forces can take the necessary measures to prevent a catastrophe.

According to the scientific team, they were able to distinguish people whose blood oxygen level was high, from others who had it increased as a result of normal physical effort.
